While looking around for my fill in sled after my accident with the Nytro I opted for a 2012 brand new apex. Did this cause three out of the five dealers I called told me that this will be the last year for the Apex. I really thought next year would of been the phaser replacement and save the Apex for the anniversary special intro of the hyper sled, but things are pointing different. The viper just doesn't have enough balls for me, and to put turbo on something that may already be coming seemed like a waste. I know hard to believe I said that with my sleds lol. So for now I am going with the tried and true Apex. That is till they work the bugs out after the apex replacement coming. I really hope the replacement isn't a boosted nytro motor. I wouldn't mind seeing a sled with it, but the option of a N/A 170-180hp hyper sled would be the cats #*$&@. Especially if it even sounds close to the apex motor. Another year of waiting... Let's see what happens

Who'd you buy from? I've been looking around and can't find anything within 100 miles. I found a demo, but don't really want a demo. I really don't wanna ask how much...would like to hear...but I won't pry.

Ecklunds in Appleton Wisconsin. $9700 for a 2012. Highlands and Moline have good deals left also. Highlands $9400 for a 2011 fyi

I'd like to congratulate you for your negotiating skills. I checked their websites and the advertised sale prices were much higher than you paid. It'll be interesting to see how I fair.

Did you try highlands yamaha? They had one red 2011 still there for 9400

Don't think the Apex is going away as soon as we think, heard that MPI has orders from Japan to have a S/C Apex for next year ;)! Don't know if it will be in the same chassis or something different? But that motor ;)! Hope they will follow thru with their request.

Could you imagine a low boost apex motor trail cruiser with a real suspension about 200hp from the factory? Here comes the new vmax-4

Now that would be a great dream... Don't see it though. My info comes from four dealers, and one even wanted to know how I found out. I told him if dealers know very one will know lol

Now that would be great.

Save me building one.

Biggest problem will be the price will be $16000

I will be DONE sleding after 35+ years in the sport ... And I could buy one but it has crossed the line on being feasible! I can take 16,000 grand and have a whole lot more fun doing somthing else and I love snowmobiling. I just feel if they cant get more sleds under even under 9 grand to choose from the sport will die. just saying....

I agree and won't buy a sled till the end of the year or a holdover. Makes no sense to pay the prices they want.

I'll be calling tomorrow to see if I can find a similar deal. I'll report my findings tomorrow night.
