....are you sure you mean this?
All you need to do is look in the mountain section of this forum to see that 2 stroke guys need almost twice the displacement and at least twice the money to just KEEP UP to a RX-M turbo.
If Yamaha was allowed to turbo a 4 stroke 440 twin, even if it was 100 lbs. heavier than everyone else..... the other 3 guys would just stay home, it would be THAT unfair.

2 strokes need twice the displacement?? Huh, you mean there are 2000 cc two strokes out there in sleds. Hmmm, never heard of one of those before. And the RX1's on the drag circuit are running turboed 1000 +cc motors to compete with 1000 cc non turbo 2 strokers. Check it out. Why do you think AMA motocross allows 250 4's to run with 125 2's and 450 4's in the 250 2 class. A turbo does not double the horsepower in any engine, and certainly not in a sled. Sure it increases it, but not enough to make up for twice the cc's. This is getting rediculous. As long as Yamaha has been making performance 4 strokes, if they could compete in snocross don't you think they would be? They realize the whole "what wins on Sunday sells on Monday" deal. C'mon if they could they would. I claim they can't. Seeing is believing, and I'm just not seeing it. I'm done.

there are 1800 2-strokes running nitro and still are not doing that great compared to turbos
there are guys here running 300+ hp with turbos which is more then twice the hp...

Dude, you really should read the mountain forum. There's a thread on there asking who's in the 300HP club......... and there are more members than you might expect.
btw...... these 300 hp sleds can be ridden all day, not like the drag racers you are talking about.
edit; ooooops, 300 hp club thread is in the Turbo forum not the mountain forum.
