Lean condition. Need Help!!!

Not yet. The weather in the great Northwest took a turn for the worse and all the snow is gone. That's what 45 degree weather for a week will do. I have changed to 17.5 pilots, fuel screw 2 turns out, kept the 135 mains. Hopefully I will get to ride this coming weekend. Suppose to cool off a little and get some snow in the mountains.

Well I thought I had it all figured out. I put the billet T's in, yamabonded everything and T'd all 4 carb boot's together to run the fuel pressure regulator and BOV. All was well throughout the day on low boost until I ran up a hill on high boost. Then the sled started running like it did before, very lean after 7500 RPM's. It did this for the rest of the day regardless of boost pressure. Anyone else have an issue like this? I am starting to think the plastic carb covers are leaking. Looks like another purchase to get this thing running like it should. I am starting to get very frustrated trying to get this thing to run correctly. All I want to do is put gas in and go. ARRRGGHHH!!!

I was having the same problem with mine a couple weeks ago. The guys at Red Deer Powersports found that one of the carb caps were leaking, tightened up and seems to be ok now. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but hopefully next weekend it stays running. I'm wondering if there isn't something a guy could do to seal them up better, new gaskets or a sealant of some kind?

I am thinking of getting these

Suppose to take care of the leaking carb caps. I think there was a guy in this post that stated he used some yamabond. I would think that would be very difficult to put on but if it works, great.

I'm thinking that you could take the caps on a flat surface with some sandpaper and take a little off on the outside edges toward the screw holes. That will give it more squeeze in the middle this way. Might be worth trying if you're gonna get the billet ones anyway, Ken.

Jon,

Try changing the plumbing back to the way it was for your BOV and fuel regulator. Everything was working until you changed that around.

You want to pick a weekend before the big ride to come down and get it running?

If I don't get this figured out w/in the next couple weeks then yes. I ordered the billet carb covers today. They should be in early next week. I will try that 1st. I will also set the BOV and fuel regulator up so I can easily switch between the old way and the current set up.
When would be a good weekend to come down?

Let me talk this over with the boss. I know I am pushing it, but maybe, just maybe we could do the head gaskets also.

JR, did the carb caps fix your problem? I went out last weekend but still had problems. It was better, could get about 8000 rpm's and 11 #'s of boost but anything over that was crap. Might try the yamma bond trick next. As for the change with your BOV and fuel reg I had also switched mine around at the beggining of the year, I tried chnging it back but that didn't help either.
Anybody else having this kind of problem with a Vector?

Yea i think so! Most all Turbo problems are leaking lines.

Yea, that is the other thing I haven't checked yet, just haven't heard of any of the Vector carb T's causing problems. Hope thats the fix, it was running wicked last year and now .......#$%&* ... I'm running out of places to check!!
