I shortened my limiter strap the other day and am curious if any one else noticed if you could feel more vibration from what I'm sure is the track clips hitting the rails? definitely keeps the transfer down a bit, another question is should I shorten it some more or put different coupler blocks in or both?

I shortened it up one hole and put in blocks from an '03 F7!! Really is a big difference! Keeps the front end light when your on the gas, but there is enough if you have to straighten her out!! I noticed a little vibration. It doesn't seem to be all that bad. What I did notice is the wheels or track squeaking a little when I rolled to a stop. I loosened the track quite a bit, no ratcheting, no squeaking, and no vibration!! ;)!

NO!!! The front limiter strap on the rear skid!

One hole = nice compromise
two holes = heavier streering and starting to loose traction.

Both depends on other setting through out sled and the type of rider you are...

I have an RTX and am 285lbs. I have the rear skid set to H with the compression maxed and rebound set near the middle. I went to 2 holes on my first adjustment and noticed that my traction was minimal and the sled would oversteer. When I let off WOT the sled would get very upset and fishtail. (it was loose granular conditions that would exagerate) Is my weight and stiffer rear skid going to have a tendancy to help me get a better balance or not? I guess I am asking if 1 hole should be a good compromise for me or not becuse before adjusting the strap the sled would hardly steer at all. Thx!

Stock w/ stock carbide for now. Try to see if I can get it set up most of the way without spending more $$$. IMO I shouldn't need to. What did your X2's cost all in? I had PX301's on my rev and liked them. But they went w/ the rev when I sold it... :o|

Is this your first 'true rider forward' sled?

But yes sucking up the front limiter strap causes more ski pressure and you can have this effect. It can be dailed (adjusted) out some but....

Put 5000 miles on my 2004 rev 600HOX. So rider forward isn't new to me. I am also very active on the sled, sitting into corners, hanging arse off the seat, and standing and pounding rough trail. I am just wanting to know if one hole on the limiter strap w/ my weight and skid adjustments is going to do anything. Also, I don't mind heavy steering as long as its going to go where I point it!

I too noticed slight traction loss after shortening the limiter strap 2 holes. For you going back one hole might be a nice compromize between more traction and slightly lighter streering. When you suck up your limiter strap you want your skis MUCH closer to the snow for the best traction. Where you place your feet (or butt if your a sit down rider) make a big differents in traction and suspension ride through the bumps. I am constantly moving my feet.

You could try putting the woodys dualies on your stock skis, this will help also. I paid around 425 with the 6" dual shaper bars

I rode my sled on some nice groomed conditions... seemed to steer hard with the Razors.. but no where near as hard as my Apex with stock skis. so if I pull the limiter one hole is it going to steer alot harder? I do find the front end need to be a little more planted coming in and going out of the corners. I noticed the sled steered much easier standing then sitting. The sled really is a one off race sled.. lovin it.. ;)!

I backed mine down to one hole up from stock and it does seem to be a nice compromise. I am still getting too much inside ski lift in the tight lower speed (25-45mph) twisties. Would new coupling blocks help with that? I also put the float pressures down to 70lbs. but I think the lower I go the more ski lift I am going to get? Is there an option for a stiffer sway bar?
