when my sled is sitting flat on garage floor the limiter straps are loose no tension. I get that if you tighten them it increases ski pressure but wouldn't that have no effect if the straps are still not pulling the rails up ? OR when the sled is in motion is it totally different then when sitting there in the shop does that little bit of slack in the strap disappear as soon as your moving ?

Know matter what hole your straps are in they should be tight when just sitting on the floor. With that said there could be multiple reasons your straps are loose. Your floor could be pushing up the rails @ the center shock causing loose straps (not as level as you think), you could have a blown shock or spring that is compressing causing loose straps, the pivot arm could be broke as well. Start looking and eliminating obvious things....good luck.

When you accelerate, the track from the sprockets down goes slack ( the top of the track is in tension), allowing the center shock spring to extend the rails to the limit the straps allow it....giving you transfer and ski lift, or better flat harder steering, under acceleration, depending on how tight.
