Looking at a clean 2005 Vector with 4,500 miles on it....

My 2009 old Vector with over 10,000 miles fired right up yesterday And it sits uncovered on an open trailer . 155 miles later still smiling :brrr:

Had another 2016 Apex that wouldn't start this am. Guy from yesterday with 2 brand new ones that wouldn't start ordered block heaters from Yamaha. I'm wondering if it so cold that it takes so much juice to turn over that no power is left for the fuel injection to work? So far all of them that failed to start, started after an hour in the heated shop........

Sounds like a buncha crap to me, I've started both of my sleds at -28...07 choked and turned over after a good cranking and the 09 cycle the fuel pump twice and it fired right up, then you know what I did...backed it up to my buddys 2012 Cat 800 and blew how exhaust at it because he couldn't even pull it over. Go over to Doo talk and tell your fairy tales.

Yup, Sounds like a lot of bullshit alright.... (one thing that REALLY sets me off is being called a liar...)

I've been on Yamaha 4 Strokes since 2004, ridden in the coldest temps anyone would ride in and never had a problem starting any of my sleds, never wore a battery out trying to start one. Don't come on here where everyone tries to help each other out and in your first 7 post start crap about cold starting. If people are having trouble with cold starting they're doing something wrong. Go ride your Doo and get your help from Dootalk.

One time, ONCE, UNO, when I had my '06 Apex, on a -15° morning where it had sat in the trailer all night, I experienced the dreaded frozen fuel pump relay. Which the first year Apexs were noted for.

I tapped on it a few times with a screwdriver & away it went. Again this was one isolated incident in four years.

So,to say they never fail to start is a pipe dream, but for one person to say they've witnessed multiple fail all in the same day? Something is a miss.

It's also been well documented here that changing to the solid state relay solves this problem, I never had this happen but still changed to the SS relays anyway.
Cat also had an issue with relays on the 1100. I agree something has to be a miss for one to witness so many no start issues? Better start looking for a 2 stroke tow vehicle too because last time I checked they're all 4 stroke or diesel??

My brother owns a motel in the Wisconsin Northwoods. After 5 customers 4 stroke Yamahas of various years, 2 of them 2016 models not starting the last 3 days of -20 weather i bought a low miles 2005 Ski-Doo MXZ. The bugs need to get worked out.........

I saw this post and went "oh boy...here it comes". Then I got the flu and went down for 2.5 days. I come back and see you guys did a great job! :) What might end up being the most reliable trail sled ever built...."bugs worked out"......wow.
