hey guys, i was just wondering if everyone is using the malpassi dual outlet bypass regulator?
is there any other models out there that will be better? what pressure numbers should a guy look at for parameters? 0-15lbs??
i just think mine might be a bit weak. i think it is falling off after the sled has been running for a longtime! anyone else had this happen?

Barry Grant regulators are very high quality. I used one on my Pro Mod dragbike.

Barry grant doesn't offer a Pressure regulator that works with Carburated turbo application ,it needs to have a 1:1 pressure ratio and be adjustable from 3-20 psi. see http://216.242.145.16/products/product.phtml?p=15

my sled when it has been running at say 6000 rpms for a while (10 kilometers) will gradually start to go lean and once it even shut off. if you let it rest for a bit it will run good for a while then eventually go lean again. i was thinking it is the pump or the regulator. what do you guys think?

I think you have a volume issue, check the hose and filter inside the tank.
Check for kinked lines also.

i changed the flter inside the tank to the stock rx one and i also was talking to a guy who said that he had the same problems and he was leaking pressure around the carb t's. i have just installed the alum carb t's so maybe the problem is cured. i have to lower my pilot jets and then i am going to take it out to test it! hopefully all is well!

I thought I would add my two cents here. We had an apparent fuel delivery problem at our last race of the year (Oct 05). We put the car away (brownie points with our wives), knowing that the it was running out of fuel at the 1000' mark. We were coasting through the traps at 130 to 135 when we normally can run 153 to 154. We had jacked the fuel pressure to 8psid over boost and the car would then run about another 100' to 200' before the motor quit. We presumed that the pump or the regulator was at fault. Tonight we checked our old regulator and one time it will pump to 8 psid and the next it has 2 or 3 psid. We have lots of supply pressure, clean fuel lines, and the regulator is clean. Our Malpassi has failed as well. Ours is run at high boost (24/25#boost, 30/33#fuel), which may have contributed to it's demise, but it is something we all should be aware of. We just bought an Aeromotive 13301 regulator as per Ted's suggestion in this post. Thanks for the heads up on the Aeromotive part #.
