Hey cankiller no luck on finding a 144" anywhere when I was looking. I know the thought of cutting a $500.00 track freaks a guy out. I said it several times when I was cutting mine down to 14.25". If you use a new blade on a table saw it goes fairly easy with some help. My Back Country is just fine after some rough miles with no issues. Check out link below pretty easy then you can get any track you want.

find a good used 15 wide x2 inch track and cut it down. You can pick up a good used 144 x 2 track for like $250 or so.
Trick is to turn the track inside out so the flat edge is on the table saw bench. Then cut just enough thru the track (not all the way thru the lugs with the blade). Its really easy to do and you can do it yourself. Then after you have it cut, just take a tin snips and cut and trim the lugs that are holding the track together still. And boom goes the dynamite!

What bugs me is that there are enough of these sleds out there and obviously enough interest in tracks from all the posts on here alone that makes me wonder why it is so hard to find a good aftermarket track!

Now can anyone tell me why I can't use a 15" wide track? It looks like it will fit under the tunnel.

Oh ya it won't fit in the bulkhead no matter what a guy tries to do it's a width issue. The molded aluminum side frames is where the issue is with bolt and molding points. 14 3/8" is the max you can go in the bulkhead anything wider and you are gone to tear your track up.

Are you wanting to change to a different track? I have one I just pulled off my MTX.

If you still want to run a 2" lug track I'd look into finding a 151" Polaris Camoplast series IV take off track. I've seen them all over the place for ~300$ slightly used (NO damage) and move your skid back 3". Cutting tracks isn't that hard as long as you have a buddy help you and you take it SLOW. The other option, if you don't strictly ride powder, is to grab an AC 144x13.5" 6 pitch predator track with 1.25" lugs. There maybe a few 144x14x1.5" "Freerides" left in the dealer network also Like I run, AWESOME trail track that does better in powder than the stock Maverick did! We might be in luck soon though, I see Arctic Cat is running 128x14" tracks on some models now, maybe they will run 144x14's on the crossovers soon and that should help move the 14" track market along!

I also have a used stock track in the interior British Columbia area that I would be willing to part with.
I've wanted to stretch my RTX to a 136 for a long time ... still waiting to see if Camoplast will produce the Freeride in a 136 again as rumored. Last I heard, Camo's production date was bumped to November 31, so we should know something pretty soon if the rumors are true.
I'd rather not cut a track, but if the 136 Freeride falls through, the track I really like the looks of is the XC Pro in a 137. The problem with that track is that it's a 2.86 pitch. I see Avid offers an 8 tooth driver in a 2.86 pitch for hex shafts, but I'm not sure on the fitment for a Phazer or whether I would also need a different top gear with the Avids ... not to mention they are spendy. Anyone have some knowledge about running a 2.86 pitch track in a Phazer? Can it be done?

153 x 14 5/8 x 2 1/2 challenger extreme fits perfect under my turbo phazer. Jakecease has my old one and knows exactly how to cut the phazer track.
