well loved my 2006 vector . was up by conover Wisconsin and got ran off trail by someone screaming down trail at night. it was bail to right or get hit. well I bailed hit tree at around 10-15 mph. broke upper arm bent lower arm and ear on bulkhead broke off. sled is at Yamaha dealer in westfield. insurance adjuster suppose to come on monday. dealer says may total . if so I have seen the barn of parts repair kit and its designed specifically for this repair. my question is if doesn't total can I take the cash minus my deductible and have dealer repair using kit or maybe do it myself? also do arms come in my red color or does it have to be painted? any advice would be appreciated. I spent twenty years in army have wanted to get into snowmobiling but always gone. after I retired bought a older ski doo and got a few years riding in and decided to upgrade to my this vector and didn't even get two hundred miles on. I am

SFC Jeff, nothing I can say will ease the pain. Just be thankful that nobody was hurt (assumption on my part) and you walked away from it. Sleds can be replaced, people (as you may already have experienced in the service) cannot.
Travis (barnofparts) should comment shortly on the rest. I think you can get red arms. I wish we were closer....I'd be honored to make the repairs for you. Just make sure the bulkhead isn't cracked in other places.

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate incident!
Our bulkhead repair kit would certainly get your sled fixed up and back on trail much sooner. Bulkhead replacement would be more costly and time consuming. If you have some basic tools and some mechanical ability you could easily tackle the repair yourself. We have a video on website showing the bulkhead saver installation. Did you watch that? Repair kit installs same way with addition of mounting a arms. If you would decide to tackle it yourself I can certainly assist you along the way.
If you opt to go with our repair kit you also get the benefit of being protected against future bulkhead breaks, and ovaled bulkhead holes.
Typically on a wreck you describe the shock gets bent as well. Be sure to take a look at that closely. I would have both a arms in factory red to match. Send me a PM if you want me to quote all the items.
Everything is in stock and I could get the parts shipped out asap to get you back out on the trail!

Dealer MIGHT NOT repair it using parts he doesn't order.....or using used parts.

my thought was to let dealer tell insurance what parts needed and labor. then I plan on telling dealer to use saverkit rather than replacing bulkhead. does that sound reasonable

most dealers will, unless they dont like business, atleast all mine have anyway..Dealer MIGHT NOT repair it using parts he doesn't order.....or using used parts.

just ask him about it first, but theres no reason they wouldnt unless they have hardass running the place, and your not replacing it with garbage. Barnofparts only deals with quality stuff though, wouldnt surprise me if your dealer knew about them already

Sent you PM with a price list on all parts. Keep us posted on your progress.
Our repair kit saves a ton of time, so a shop greedy for business would rather install a new bulkhead as they get more billable labor. A shop that truly cares about the best interests of their customers should be willing to install our kit.
