looking to spend more money on my 09 xtx. already have the excell big wheel kit, didnt want to spend the money on c @ a xtx skis yet so i bought the yamaha ski skins and the bergstrom triple points, shims, and ski savers. i can see now that at 1200 miles that my nytro is chewing up its first limiter strap, guess im lucky being some guys say they are going 300 miles before they eat one.
questions
1 how do i stop my sled from eating limiter straps
2 what is the tallest handle bar riser to run without getting cable extensions
3 torn between full excell or hindle exhaust. do you get more power with the hindle and the bonus of no more exhaust dounuts. or the tried and true excell from what i understand is lower in power but sounds the best in my opinion. any info would be great. i thought about as a 3rd option is to get the hindle header and excell silencer has anyone tried that will it work. i know ur not supposed to mix and match exhaust from different companys but i would have the best of both worlds not dounuts and excell sound
4 more air. not sure i like the idea of the k@ns im sure they flow more air than anything else but has anyone tried the ram air lid from hauck or the air modules from schmit bros. Do they flow enough to work with the full exhaust or should i stick with the k@ns.
5. DAYTONA IS TOMORROM HARVICK AND DALE JR ARE GOING TO KICK #*$&@.

You bought ski skins? Are these the extra wide ones?

You do have a lot of questions, especially for one thread, too confusing to answer all. Adding the larger Excell idlers is a very good start.

I can't answer the other questions, but try doing a search on each of your ideas and you'll come up with a lot of info that will help.

I have 2" ROX risers and the OFT relocater kit on mine and didn't have to use a extended throttle cable just had to re-route it. I'm 5'11" and its all a perfect height for me. Hope this helps.

The Excell muffler wil NOT work on a Hindle header...the Hindle sysyem with a db reducer sounds very similar to the Excell system. You can now get a 20" muffler from Hindle..available from Hurricane....it sounds killer..I'll try to post a vid of a 20" with db reducer..but winter isn't being kind around here so bear with me. Mach9 has the same setup without a db reducer...maybe e could post a clip.

the ski skins from yamaha that i have are 7.5 in wide be careful ordering them as the yamaha book says that they are $60 a pair but when mine come in the parts guy gave me 1 skin. The price in the book is a misprint it is $60 a skin so i had to order another 1 the guy got me both for $75. I couldnt find any dimensions and my dealer didnt help too much but yamaha has 7.5, 9, and 11 in skins. They are big skins probably 6in longer than stock ski and way wider figure it is like a 3rd stock ski in the snow. just unbolt the skegs install ski skin and bolt skegs back on.

I've just never heard of someone using ski skins over top a plastic ski, but if it works and increases flotation, then it's a low cost measure to improve on the stockers.

yea i was happy to find them tired of riding on the belly of the beast instead of the skis. they are made to fit the apex, nytro, and phazer plastic skis. now if we get snow i will be able to try them out.

Limter straps generally get eaten because the hyfax is severely worn. Solve the wear issue, and install anti stab kit on the front of the rail.

??

have 1100 miles on mine, limiter straps and hyfax are fine. going to double check now, but how the F is it eating them up? low hyfax allowing track to chew thru it? (have bigger wheels all around so this would save me)

i installed new hyfax and excell x wheels (8 of them) 200 miles ago and the straps were fine now the left side limiter strap is chewed up below the bolt and washer at the top side. its not all the way through. my straps are tightened one hole down from the top. not sure what to think was hoping the bigger wheels would have saved me

The track inner lugs are chewing through the strap. Poor design. The more your hyfax is worn the closer the inner lugs are...

Same here 3,800 miles, Golden
