Hi all I'm thinking off buying a Nytro and i'm wondering if there are any models or year of production that I should stay away from? after reading in this forum it's pretty clear to stay away from 08 models, I ride most of the time back country climbing hills and such , what mods are worth doing on them? also if i go turbo is ther much more maintenance? and fuel consumption

I'm looking at a 09 nytro xtx with only 981km on it which is 144 and 38mm lugs or 1,4 inches studded but i would replace that track with taller lugs how tall can you go on them ?
also what is to look for when i'll see it in person ?

ty all :)

I have a 121 soni can't answer the track questions but when you see it I would check to see that the sub frame is not bent, you can do this by either making sure the shocks are centered in the a-arms and look at the 3 in circle in the frame between the lower a-arms and make sure it is not wrinkled. I am sure there more ways to check that too. Check the ball joints for play and the A-arm bushings ( mine were gone at 490 miles)

my brother has a 2009 xtx with a 1 3/4" back country track- just had to remove the tunnel protectors

x2 Just did mine this year. I think if you go to 2 inch track you have to change to smaller drivers as well as removing protectors. Someone can correct me if Im wrong.

Basically all nytros have these mechanical issues, Not a huge deal but bit of a nuisance.
1.Bushings, replace with Oilite
2. Exhaust Donuts (replace with sledtoyz donuts if they go)
3.Balljoints are horrible but usually need to be replaced in the 3-4000 range.
4. Subframes are weak, Reinforce with Grizz Gussets, it will surprise you how easy they bend.

Please add your location to your profile.

An XTX is a really nice crossover sled after adding a backcountry track (144x15x1.75), dropping the top gear (19 or 20 tooth), skis, and clutch. Alternatively, you can buy a 153 MTX (2010+) and drive it. This is assuming you do almost zero trail riding.

You can fit a 2" in with the stock drivers but I don't recommend it.

thx for the info guys very much appreciated :)
