The Cpr kit is Great ......Highly Recommended , I know firsthand.tom said:Any reason why MCX doesnt make a front mount anymore?
From my limited 'research' I was under the impression a front mount MCX was the ticket. Is there a better brand/setup?
Hear alot of lag complaints about rear mounted benders and dont know much about CPR's.

I have rode the Bender rear mount. There was some lag, but not that bad. I really don't have anything else to compare it to, for I have not had the opportunity to ride any other brand of turbo. I have heard you can adjust the clutching to get the lag down.
I am putting the titanium version in my sled next Thursday and will be playing with the clutching to see what I can do. I will be out of town that weekend for the McCall ride. If you want to see what the Bender is like we should get together for a ride and you can see for yourself if you like it or not. I am sure I can get Frostbite and some others to come along also. Then all we will need to do is find some snow. Good luck with that one.
You can also do a search on turbo's and turbo lag. That subject has been beat to death. You will get lots of information, pros vs cons of each turbo etc. It seems like everyone has their preference. Some like a little turbo lag for the mountains so you don't dig a big hole, some do not. All depends on the riders preference.

Jonny, good to see another Spokane guy around. Let's definitely meet up and go riding. I dont think there's any good snow around here, but maybe we could get some trail miles in at Priest Lake. Few weeks back we found good snow about 1 past the border. Let me know we'll find something.
Buckeye, so are you saying the MCX front mount is better even though they no longer make it? I.E., if I go with a MCX, should I look for a used front mount?

RXHALLER, how does your CPR turbo compare to your Bender?

About the same only less lag........
The lag is not a big deal though I probably wouldn't know if I didn't have both.......
The charge tube cooling makes up for it in the mountains w/ the Bender.

Looks like the bender stage II only produces up to 220hp? While the MCX produces 240hp? What does the CPR produce?
Can you get more out of those kits safely? I'm looking for the 250+ range.

I am saying that McXpress makes a nice kit. I am sure the others do also. I personally like the front mount style for my riding. The size of the turbo and compressor determines the possible HP. McX was using a Switzer on the front mount. It peaked out in the 250 - 260 range. Cpr uses different Garretts which can go up to 400+ hp. McX has made over 400 with their latest kit. I think it is a Mitsubishi. I'm not sure what one Bender is using, but I believe they are near the 400 HP mark also.
I am running a Garrett 28 GTR from Northeast Turbos. It is good for about 315 -320 max. Things to consider are quality of the header, intercooler and The gas tank if you go with the front mount. They are all good kits, just different approaches. I do like the dual ballbearing feature on the Garrett turbo.
And yes, if you can find a used setup, there is money to be saved.

buying used turbo sleds
Check with Alpine Motor Sport 250-804-4334 and ask for Dean about a few used turbo sleds cause guys are wanting to go Apex with turbo.
Also never leave out the idea of Vector with turbo.
Front mount http://www.powderlites.com/turbokits.html
This sled is right up there with RX1 turbo and if your not going much over 200 HP it does the job better then RX1 and is lighter.
New setup we have now runs over 200 HP on pump gas and RX1 guys have to watch out if they don't have big boost.

Tom, don'trule out rear mounts. The lag is almost non-existent on my Bender rear mount and it's smoother and quiter than the front mount. You can make it stealth too if you want.

Care to explain?
I'm not sure how a rear mount could be quieter than a front mount. If someone is interested I have a 05rx-1 and a 05 rx warrior that will be for sale. rx-1 has Simons CPR lake race turbo and rx warrior has Simons CPR trail turbo both very low milage
