I'm thinkin of buying my first 4 stroke,probably an Rx-1 so I can afford to turbo it.How many miles or Km's is safe for puttin a turbo on a used Rx-1? Everyones input would be a great help.Thanks

It doesn't matter the engine is the strongest out there, I am not aware of anyone ever wearing one out on a sled.
I just got my LP turbo and will start the install next week on my 04 RX1
with about 4000 miles on it.

hymee - Welcome onboard, just go for it and turn up the boost. I have 9000 kms on it now. Engine is still in great shape. Please take your time reading every bit of info on this Forum, everything about a turboed RX-1/Apex engines is covered in here. BOOST is KING, give me beer LOL.

I am new to 4 strokes. I would tell you to chain your oil out reguarly.

I will have 0 hrs on my new motor and going straight to 12lbs of boost and probably wont move it from there.

George, how much boost have you ran over all those miles ?

10-12 lbs with a boost switch. 16 lbs with race fuel, but its just stupid for trail riding. When we go on a big trip I turn it down to about 8-10lbs just in case I cannot get 91 octaine. But even at 8 lbs it rocks.

About the same hp level on those systems, MCX in a RX-1 at 10 lbs makes 240 HP.
