Why does yamaha not snug up the small bolts for the rollers in the primary clutch? I know they have nylon locking nuts but why would you want those bolts sliding around? Wouldent that wear out the holes in the clutch? The rollers spin on the bolts.

There is a spacer that the 3 bolt go through. The bolts are tight it's the spacer that moves. I shortened the spacer so the bolts barely move.

My bolts are definatly not tight. There is a gap between the nut and the clutch. You can slide the bolt back and forth from head to nut . Maybe 16th or 8th inch. Now since i read your post again maybe your right. I will have to look at it again.

Just put little O-Ring to fill the gap.

That is what I did. I thought maybe it would help with the clutch rattle but it didn't make a difference.

Weren't O-rings the fix for the clutch rattle?

I have the same rattle, aggravating, I hope it is harmless. Is there any concern with this ?

I think they went somewhere else, not on the roller bolts.

Noise is harmless.
O-Ring on weights & roller's bolts does nothing for the noise.
However, there is a O-Ringed shoes set (slidder, whatever) kit which was supposed to quiet down the clutch. This O-ring supposetly pick the slack as the plastic wear. I tested it with results comparable to a good shim job.... maybe not better. So i keep doing a standard shim job at beginning of season. Clutch start to sing in March.

The bolts will not wear the holes larger due to that fact that when the clutch is rotating centripetal force is keeping them from moving back and forth. my2cents.
