my dealer is not going to cover them.any one else have this problem

What dealer?? Where? They will cover them! Insist they call Yamaha or other dealers. Sounds like a piece of POOP dealer.

I've found Yamaha to be by far the best manufacturer for covering waranty stuff without question. I've had them warranty stuff on things they really shouldn't have just because I played dumb. Where as other guys IE BRP, its a god dam fight tooth and nail for things they should cover no question.

I haved call around to local dealers in Ontario and they're not sure if they are covered. But my dealer is not

Mine are covered except they are all back ordered. My dealer thinks they have been recalled so they took them of the shelf till they get a proper fix.

It doesn't matter if they are warrantied, you will just end up with the same, low quality part. Mine were both shot under 900 miles. The left side was so bad that it spit out the liner material.

My dealer told me to put lube on the ball joints prior to riding. He said in a pinch use WD-40 other than that if you lube all ball joints prior to riding you will get rid of the squeek and the wear, which most people are hearing. I have 1300 miles on mine and all is tight. It would be nice of thay had grease fittings on the ball joints though.

My dealer is great,he helps me out alot but his hands are tied.He said that they were within spec.3/8" play is within spec.He said he is going to push yamaha about the issue and so am I.

No way, Yamaha doesn't need pushing. It all sounds like BS. My dealer here in southern ontario replaced the whole lower a arm's because the ball joints are back ordered, and it was Yamaha who suggested and sent him the whole a arms. So I find it hard to believe that the hang up is with Yamaha.

Do you work for Ski-Doo?? :yam:

They are going to officially recall them very shortly.

Agreed. When I spoke with the first tech at the dealership he said that is a wear item. The service manager contacted Yamaha and they said no way is that a wear item and to bring in the sled to replace under warrenty. They said also that a fix is coming but was not ready. Also did not mention that the parts are backordered.

You have to check ball joint slop while there is pressure on them not while they are in the air. Mine have a little bit of movement and my dealer said that they are within Yamaha spec. They talked to Yamaha about the issue and apparently mine are within spec. I lifted a brand new one on the showroom floor and even it had a little bit of play. I guess there is a certain amount of slop needed before they will replace them. I too lube them every so often.
