I went with the 1.6 ice cobra installed it this summer, did a lot of research on finding the perfect track for me and think I made the right choice. Plus I got a great deal on a used one with only 300 miles. Can't wait to try it.

I'll look into the gears as well, thanks! Out of curiosity, what ski/carbide setup are you running? I really like the look of the sled in your avatar. Figured I'd ask seeing as you're somewhat in the same riding "field" as I am.
curve xs with 6 inch carbides. i like the way it handles now, but as always setup is a difference maker. shagman, 118 is what i want to hear. i just wanted to see over 110 whenever i want. not top our at 107 with a turboed sled.

Saw 107-108 anytime I wanted to last winter. Now with taller gears and higher rev limiter who know where it will shake out. Like to see 120+. Lol

I installed my 1.6 ice cobra and have intake, exhaust, clutch and programmer. After reading through the forums knowing what I know now I would have regeared to XTX (21/41) gearing to reduce track spin off the line and gain couple mph up top. LTX gears are (24/50)is anyone regearing for a 1.6 cobra track with a clutch, exhaust and intake?

Someone brought up the concern of the metal picks in the track flying out and hitting the heat exchanger. Doesn't seem very likely to me, what do you guys think?

It doesn't seam very likely, but I suppose possible. I can't imagine there would be any more risk of that than breaking a stud off and having the track launch it through the heat exchanger.Someone brought up the concern of the metal picks in the track flying out and hitting the heat exchanger. i used an ice attack track for over 5,000 miles on my 08 nytro 136" and track was in like new shape yet with no missing studs and they were still sharp at that time, planning on installing one on my 16 ltx le
Not going to happen, those picks are molded into the paddles. This is what I am running on the XTX with 1.6" single ply track with 252 hp and no contact in 2000 miles. I have 150 screw in points on it also. I have had a few of those come out. When Ulmer had it on the dyno they were shooting across his shop.Someone brought up the concern of the metal picks in the track flying out and hitting the heat exchanger. Seems to be the 1.5 IceCobra is the overwhelming fav O rite track of the year. With sooooo many of them running this year, cant wait till this time next year to hear everyones opinion after a season of use.

I got 2000 miles on my 1.6 ice cobra and love it. Completely changed the sled for the better. I go 90% on trails 10% off trail.

Did you have a chance to take it out into some deeper stuff? If so, how did it compare to the stock track?I got 2000 miles on my 1.6 ice cobra and love it. Completely changed the sled for the better. I go 90% on trails 10% off trail.

The one thing I didn't like is that I could never stand the sled up. Maybe I just need to do some other adjustments too. Definitely getting this track.I run a 129" 1.6 ice cobra on my nytro, the track is awesome, 1600mi last season, no missing pics, track is in great shape..Picks up the front with no issues in the powdah..

Will probably be tough to stand up with the coupled skid. That's where the XTX's have the advantage as the uncoupled skid allows full weight transfer to the rear. The one thing I didn't like is that I could never stand the sled up. Maybe I just need to do some other adjustments too. Definitely getting this track.
