- LTX SE - sold.
Hallo everyone ,
I sold my skidoo and I'm thinking about buying '17 sidewinder by end of this week. One I'm looking at is Se model in orange color, so my question is to whom rode both models is trail riding really affected much on SE model which is equipped with cheaper shock package? I've come across opinions like "day and night difference". I prefer spending extra money on new skis and ecu reflash , and I like orange better then blue
).Thanks Mario.

Welcome mario750. I own a 17 LTX LE, i came off a viper LTX SE with fox floats. The upgraded shocks are worth it. I have never rode a better, more smooth set up. That being said, the skis need to be replaced as well without a doubt. This sport is expensive, and for me, the money was better spent on ride quality and the upgraded shocks are worth it. I waited a season to upgrade to Curve XS skis.

If you want it get it. The shocks aren't a deal breaker and the SE is an amazing sled even with the shocks that it comes equipped with. It's still less than an LE so you can look at it as the savings can be put towards Mods or even shocks of your choice. Heck you may even like the more plush ride it delivers.
All Sidewinders imo are amazing sleds regardless of shock package.

Never rode the Le but have a orange SE. And I really like it. The Raptor front suspension shock spring(front shock in rear suspension)is a VERY good upgrade if your more then 200 dressed imo. The shock package on the SE is better then most think. I find myself going faster over two foot choppers then I thought I would. If you do a SE I can give you my suspension set up all the way around. I'm 220 dressed riding. I also ditched the stock spring adjusters and went with aluminum ones. The plastic three position triangle that has three settings. They are aftermarket ones that have 4 positions on them.

Never had anything out of the box I liked. Once I got the straps, spring tension front and rear set, I cant imagine doing any better. Sled is flat, never bottoms, rides great beating it on the bumps. No complaints at all with the suspension....just the steering sucked with the tuners.PS...I personally would have Hygear custom tune my shocks if needed, like on the apex. Once the valving is right, I'm done....pound em! I wouldnt use the three settings on the qs3 more than once, so I'd save the cash and get them revalved for my weight and riding style. Hygear is very good at what they do. JMO.Hallo everyone ,
