I lube the steering of the Apex last night and the rubber boots that slide over the tie rods seem to bind.

:o|

Any suggestions. Seemed to get worse when used sray lube.

Well, same thing here. Put the sled up on the lift and the steering is stiff. When I changed my oil filter last month, I sprayed the heck out of every ti-rod, etc. Still stiff!

I will try the silicone spray next!

Your problem may not have anything to do with the boots. When you put the sled on the lift, the front suspension drops down and the tie rods rest on the inside of the frame. When you turn the ski's it feels as if its stiff or hanging up somewhere when actually its only rubbing on the frame. Take it back off the lift and the front end compresses and all is well. I lubed everything but the dog one day before I realized what was happening!!!

I see what you mean the angle is totally different when on ground. I still think I will get some silicone and make it as slick as possible. Probably over kill, but hey I am waiting to ride.

Yamadoo,
Good idea, I like to use Amsoil spray grease as it seems to work well. Where in SE MN are you located. I grew up in Roch and my parents still live near Marion. Some of the best riding in the state when there is snow!!!! Love the trip from Roch to Caledonia and back around through Stockton.

I live near Mantorville, actually have never ridden east of ROch, wear would a guy start to experience these trails.. An y places I could start from trailer.

Thanks

Yamadoo, I live just outside Zumbrota, raise the garage door and go. As good as any trails in the state. Let me know if you are interested
