for those with the KYB mono shock skid, (non-electric shock) there is a rubber boot that the remote adjuster cable runs through between the adjuster dial and the shock. my old cable snapped and im having trouble figuring how to run the new cable through the boot. is this boot necessary? it doesn't seem to serve much purpose.

I have tried it with and without the boot, I currently am running no boot and think it's the way to go, when the snow and slush builds up in there that boot gets to be about the size of a frozen football, i think the cable on its own would get less snow build up

You don't need the boot, you can use a piece of 1/2 fuel line hose that works great, or run with nothing.
