Some guys, those that use the sled mostly for cruising, actually like that suspension. Others, those that are more performance oriented, agree it's best used under a sled used for mostly cruising?

Not sure I understand your question fully. Regarding the install, no unusual mods necessary. Just the usual stuff you'd run into doing any other suspension conversion?

I did the same exact installation of a factory M-10 out of a Polaris and installed it into my Vector. You'll need to purchase the installation kit from FAST which consists of the template, shafts and spacers for the Yamaha. The Polaris shafts are too narrow. The kit was $200 and included the directions.

The only mods are drilling holes and relocating the rear drop out brackets further forward into the tunnel. It isn't too difficult to do if you are used to removing and replacing your rear skid.

Yes, you'll need the FAST install kit for the RX-1. The Polaris tunnel is narrower than the RX-1 thus the shafts are too short.

My M-10 was from FAST and was a factory 136. I bought the skid used from a guy that had a Polaris. Basically just switched out shafts and spacers and it was ready to be installed.
