Back when the girlfriend first learned to ride I put a set of cheap Camoplast All Terrain 7inch wide skis on her old Viper. She really liked them so as the sleds changed so did the skis, on a Ski Doo, then her Nytro, and then on her boosted Phazer before we bought the new Viper. Now we ride in the Colorado powder so the stock Viper (cat) skis are too narrow and caused her to lose some confidence after having the front end submerge a few times. We used to joke the Camoplast were "magic skis" because she could ride without getting stuck.
Sooo.........Off to Ebay I go to find another set of "magic skis". But, they don't make them for the new Cat chassis so I buy a set for the older M6 and Firecat. Wasn't hard to adapt, just drill out the spindle bushing for the larger ski bolt and put one plastic washer in so the ski will not move left and right. The plastic spacer was used in conjunction with the original Viper rubber bushing between the spindle and the edge of the rubber bushing as seen in the attached pic.
LOL, they worked better than the Poo Grippers I put on my M8, I think I am going to put a set on my M8. Camoplast All Terrain look alot like Poo Gripers but are 1/4 inch wider and lighter.
Camoplast All Terrain skis $209.00 skis, mounts, carbides delivered to my door.
Please note we ride powder might not be as good for ice roads.
