I too, like RSVECTORFREAK, took a pass on the YES warranty and so far haven't needed anything. But then again, I don't have the mileage a lot of the veterans do on this site. I bought a 4S thinking reliability and dependability which it has been for me. However, reading the growing pains you guys went through, maybe that is the future for me and my Rage. I guess time will tell.
My question to all would be this...Are the earlier model 4S growing pains, and the newer Yamaha better? Obviously too early to tell, but when I look in the other 4S forums (ie: FX, Phazer, and others), they all have issues too. I'd like to think the newer sleds are improving, but maybe that's not the case.
By no means was I saying or implying 2 stroke riders are inferior. I think anyone who gets out on a sled rocks.....period. Snowmobilers are a unique breed, and all seem to share this quirky passion for the snow. I too, am hoping to share this passion with my kids, and trust me their first sled will be whatever is affordable, assuming I can afford anything for them. Snowmobiling is clearly an expensive sport....2 stroke or 4 stroke.
Would it be safe to say that if your gonna ride a Yammi 4S, the YES warranty is worth the extra $$ for piece of mind? Any chance I can run down to my dealer and pick up a retro warranty based upon inspection of my machine now?

If your machine is still under the factory warranty, you can still purchase the YES and it will be worth it in my opinion.

I haven't "HAD" to spend anything on my Rage (it's a 06 bought new) except oil changes. Not even spark plugs. My RIPSAW is in perfect condition.
I am not sure why you bought a Rs Vector when it sounds like you would have been happier on a Nytro.
2S or 4S who cares what you ride, as long as you ride.

I would have bought a Nytro at the time but they didn't make one and I don't think it would have mattered anyway because most of the problems would have still been there.
It looks like another $800+ at the beginning of next season for new clutch and front end bushings after pricing out the P-85 setup from Hartman and bushings from Ulmer..Opps I forgot the secondary is probably wasted also so it will probably shoot to over a grand...

ouch!!!!
Couldn't you pick up a used P85 from C/List or eBay, then get the parts from Hartman? or....do a search on TY.....somebody has to have posted a good setup for a P85 on your sled. Or buy a used Yami clutch from a junked sled.
