Making the move to 4 stroke....

That is a great deal. I sold my 07 attak with 2800 miles for 5000.00 with studs and full hauck exhaust this spring.

Apex's and attak's can be had for under $5k, but it will be harder this time of year. This summer I saw a nice Attak with 2K miles for $4600. Nytro's are harder to find under $5k, but quite a few priced right around $5k. Z1 turbos are coming down in price with the new chassis, but I still haven't seen any less then $7K.

Look into the 05 Warrior. You will love the 136 inch skid. In 05 Yamaha updated the rings do to oil consumption issues on 03-04

X2 05 Warrior is better than RX1 but no Apex or Attak in rider position. Earliest Attak is 06 look for 1 under $5K..... Maybe?

X3 Rode my 05 Warrior from new through last year, and loved it. I let her go for $4500 (US). Only changed cause I wanted rider forward position and fuel injection. Can't wait to ride the Attak!!!

Someones idea of 'handling' is subjective. My feeling of handling is solid ski pressure, minimal darting and being well balanced. A tippy sled & high speeds = date with a tree where I ride.

I have a few lines on some RX1's for 3k even. The RX1 is the only Yamaha I have any basic knowledge about. Is there another model in the 3-4k range that may suit my HP needs & has a fairly upgradeable suspension?
If you like your machz just invest the money in refurbishing the engine and clutches you will probably spend the equal amount on getting a RX1 to ride and handle as good as your mach and still be down 25 - 30 hp

I can tell you 1 thing. No apex or rx1 will ever handele as good as the mach but you will never have to worry about braking down with yamaha! The mach 1000 was my favorite sled i have ever owned. And i ride hard in all type of conditions. If they didnt blow up i would be on 1 right now! And dont waste you $$$ on a new apex they r no diffrent then the old ones . I had a 07 attak, 07 f1000, 05 mach and i ride the 2011 apex xtx right now. So im talking from experience not just BS. ;)!

This dude is the best rider I have ever ridden with and trust his opinion.

I take it he owned an rx1 as well.
No but I did and now own a Warrior. I also owned an 06 MachZ X and agree with his comments. I too sold the mach because of concerns about the engine reliability. Yamaha engines are what brought me back. What I would give for a Mach with a Yamaha engine

FYI - Not everyone here rides an Apex begrudgingly because of the suspension.

I for one don't care for the ride or handling of that chassis. Full disclosure is that I do not have much seat time on them but that is because it wasn't for me. Maybe I am in the minority but here I am.

I bought my 07 Attak GT for $5k last Jan. It's condition was on the fair side of good not mint. Price of these has a lot to do with mileage. If you look hard enough you can find a great deal. I almost bought an 06 RTX for $3800 but there we too many little things to replace for me at that time.

Mighty u r right a MackZ with a apex motor and and a good 1.5 track would be a perfect sled! Maybe i will try to build one lol. And Mighty thanks for the compliment :) Cant wait to go riding again! ;)!
