Just looking for someone that knows more than I do about this system. I have a 2015 srviper dealer installed trail turbo I think a Gen 2.
Long story short It was negative temps and I was running at high rpms on the flowage. I didnt realize I was running hot until light came on and I lost some rpms, I moved over off the path to find some snow to help cool it down, temps dropped a bit. I pulled up on shore and shut it down to check it over. It didnt want to restart. Oil was everywhere and I seen it popped a valvecover gasket on exhaust side. I removed the hood and seen the MAP sensor was also unplugged from the intake.
Got home removed valve cover and reinstalled gasket,changed 3 sparkplugs as 2 were definitely fouled, cleaned the oil seperator which had a ton of water in it. Got it buttoned back up and started and it popped the half moon on the gasket out again. Talking to a few they mentioned the breather for valve cover could be plugged. I removed the hose from the valve cover and the brass breather does seem to be quite restrictive. I would assume it should be free flowing.
It does start but now I have to give it a little throttle where it always started withoutout. It will hold rpm at idle around 1500 like normal.
How does the MAP sensor being unplugged effect a turbo engine. This is the so called stock MPI so has the EABC and GEMS controller. I assume it was still boosting but not getting proper fuel? Could this simply be caused by extreme cold and blocked breather blowing out gasket and frozen oil seperator fouling plugs or did I probably do some internal damage?

If you are blowing out gaskets, its because the crankcase is being pressurized by cylinder pressure... aka excessive piston blow-by. Id say you damaged a piston or 2 or all.
Time for a compression test or better yet a cylinder leak down.

When you say the MAP sensor was unplugged, do you mean the OEM sensor? The electrical connector was unplugged or the vacuum signal hose?
If the factory MAP sensor wasnt plugged in, the factory ECU wont run the engine correctly or at all, definitely wont control the ignition timing or fuel maps correctly. The MPI piggyback fuel controller doesnt "run" the engine., only adds additional fuel required to match boost.

His map sensor for his GEMS box came unhooked. He cooked all three pistons as his compression is 125, 70, 35.

I better check mine and put some locktite as its only one bolt holding the sensor in place.
His sensor didn't come out, it simply came unplugged, the bolt didn't come out.

Sucks either way, but a good reminder to check over all the connections.His sensor didn't come out, it simply came unplugged, the bolt didn't come out.

I will get my money in order and have Allen get it going again and make a few improvements. I like this sled to much to just ditch it.You gonna rebuild the motor, part it out or give it the zip tie treatment if it's insured?
