Hold on there, why do you make a bastard size wheel that only SKUD makes ?MotoPsycho said:unclearpine said:MotoPsycho said:OFT Racing has recently unveiled a new TRUE 5.25" (133.35mm) wheel. Get rid of that premature hyfax wear by using a wheel that is actually designed to keep the track away from the skid!

Do you use your wheels on the inside of the rails as well and can you use the marginal wheel kit or do you get spaces between wheels and the track now? What bearing goes in them?
I'm not sure I follow your questions completely, but here it goes...
These wheels were designed to mount in the OEM outer rail locations, and to replace the OEM wheels.
As far as the use of a low snow kit, it depends on the wheel diameter and mounting location of the LS kit. if the LS wheels hang the same distance below the hifax as the OFT wheels do there will be equal pressure on each wheel - if one hangs lower than the other, the lower one will carry a somewhat higher load.
We use a replaceable 6005 bearing that is 25mm (bore) x 12mm (wide)
Doo I use them on the inside rails like I did (so no more ugly skud wheels is bullshit).
Then you have to fit the low snow wheels with different pressure on the track beside them.I used a set up that is a fix for the slider wear I hope! and I know your slightly larger wheels alone will not be enough .
You can not have different wheel pressures because the one with the most will probably fail.
I can buy any replacement parts anywhere.Try to buy a 6005 bearing anywhere but Yamaha, most parts supplies don't stock that's why I changed over to 6205 they are more common.

We make a "bastard sized wheel" because we feel the OEM wheels are slightly too small.
We DO NOT publish applications for our parts that have not been tested - not to say they won't work inside the rails... just that they have not been tested in that application.
I questioned the diameter and mounting of the LS kit for the very reason you stated... if there is more pressure on one or the other, it is a less than optimal setup - again, a setup we have not tested (and we've made no claims otherwise)
You stated:
"I used a set up that is a fix for the slider wear I hope! and I know your slightly larger wheels alone will not be enough"
This is a prime place for confirmed testing... Not unsubstantiated conjecture.
We do purchase the bearings "ANYWHERE BUT YAMAHA"... I'm glad nobody told us those bearings are hard to find! Since we didn't have that info, we haven't had a problem yet! Even the local NAPA Auto parts in B.F.Wyoming stocks them.
We are simply offering another option. If you don't like our products, carry on to the next - we have broad shoulders, and we can take the "slings and arrows"
Best Regards,
Jeff

Well lets first say, that you and me has stated we have not tested our methods so I will concur .I will never have to find a 6005 bearing in BF Ontario we don't always have the" local NAPA Auto parts in B.F.Wyoming"store .Can you post some pics of your wheel setups with the LS wheels ?MotoPsycho said:unclearpine said:Hold on there, why do you make a bastard size wheel that only SKUD makes ?MotoPsycho said:unclearpine said:MotoPsycho said:OFT Racing has recently unveiled a new TRUE 5.25" (133.35mm) wheel. Must be summer.
6005 bearings are readily available from a lot of places. Afterall, that's what Yamaha put in the wheels in the first place. They just forgot to make them replaceable.
Here's a "good quality" 6005 for reference:

Keep a couple in the toobox for $6 and a little insurance if one should ever happen to fail.
We have not tested the marginal snow kit. We're not claiming that we have. Honestly, we try not to ride in marginal snow conditions but would welcome any feedback or suggestions and we will try to make a better product than what is currently available. That is what we do, that is who we are.
Keep it positive and better products will prevail
aint bad either....

Is there any place that sells just the small wheels?? I mean what happens when you wear the rubber off of the wheels? Do you have to purchase another entire kit ??

Motovan seems to have the correct wheel, number 004-11699, 3.35" with 6004 bearing. I remember the original wheel marked as being made by PPD, which is what Motovan sells. And they use better quality bearings than Kimpex, often NTN.
