Max boost I should run?

Hey guys.

I have a NW TNytro with no headshim. It's running a Garrett T25 which is rated to 15lbs, intercooler, Pure Logic controller, Turbo XS blow off.

I will be running it mostly @ 1800 feet elevation. I have access to AVGas 100LL and would prefer this rather than $$$ race fuel.

Now what is the max boost you guys would recommend I run at this elevation on AVGas?
What is the max boost you guys would recommend I run at this elevation on 1/2 AV and 1/2 91 Octane?

I don't want to run a ragged line with the motor, I would like to be safe.
Maybe next year when I have more $, I can get the headshim done.
For now I'd like to stick with AV as I can get it cheap and nearby.

I don't need exact numbers but someone out there must have some kind of experience with this setup.

I think there is a calculator for that. I would guess you could probably run 10lbs on straight 100LL but I would run a knock box and wideband and you may get it up to 12, air charge temps are higher on front mounts.

Thanks, by front mount, do you mean midmount turbo?

I have the wideband but definitely think I should throw on a knock box.

Your better off putting the knock box $ towards a meth kit and run 15lbs on pumpgas save a bunch. Hurricane has them thats where i got mine.

Don't you need the knock box to trigger the Meth injection if it detonates?? 15lbs on pump gas with no headshim I think would need constant meth injection or would knock the rods out pretty quick. I wouldn't run over 12lbs on pump gas with a headshim.

The max I'll be running at any elevation is 12lbs. The turbo would be running pretty hard at 15lbs I think.
You guys have piqued my interest in the Meth injection though. I'll have to do some research now.

You don't need a knock box with the meth sure it would be a good add on. Some people just don't have much trust in the meth but i look at it the same as your old 2 stroke with lube injection fill up with meth everytime you gas up.

We haven't found the knock box to be reliable.Stay tuned to our Monster trail Nitro.We will be running over 20lbs boost on 91 octane pump gas using meth to control detonation.We have already made 456hp with an RX1 on pump gas and we are now looking for 400hp out of the Nitro

Is this Meth kit the one from Snow?
Do they have a Nytro specific kit available.

That's too bad the Knock Box hasn't proven itself, that would be a great indication to avoid engine probs.
