Hi,
I was wondering what's the highest boost as someone run a Nytro with all stock internals?
At what boost would you say racing fuel is needed?
What racing fuel is recommended to run in the Nytro. I've been running VP C-12 in my quads and was wondering if it would work in the 4 stroke also. I was just wondering if it would be best to run leaded fuel , unleaded fuel, oxygenated fuel....
Thanks

12-14 on race gas all stock (stock compression) from what I have read. I have never done it though.........

I asked this question awhile ago and was told over 17psi and you'll be pushing it. I suppose elevation and compression is gonna play a part as well.
There are tons of Impulse Nytos out there running 17psi above 6,000' on pump fuel, I have had my stock motor on 17psi for three years with no trouble. Impulse runs a pretty big shim though I think compression is all way down to like 8.9:1
I talked to Paul at Impulse about going to the race kit and bumping up to 20psi and he told me he wouldn't even try it without motor work.

I'll be running at sea level, so I imagine I won't be able to run at 17 psi like you are running?
Thanks

I hear anything over 8-10 you will need better-more fuel, then over 10-11 u
You will need compression changes and extras. Over 12-14 head studs since the nytro is weak there.
I would call someone like Ulmer, powderlites, OSP, or h&h etc to get their expert view, and talk to more then one builder before making your upgrades for peace of mind. Just my Two cents

Who's kit are you running, or is it selfmade?
If it's a kit, talk to the place you bought it from.
Do you run headchim?
Do you have aux injectors?
Do you have aux fuelpump?
There are many parameters restricting boost level.
For ex. MCX can run really high boost level with stock internals on sealevel on premium pump.
All factors count, chargetemp (pre cooler AND IC), amount of fuel, compression, a.s.o.

Diffrence between MCX240 and MCX270 is that MCX270 have an external fuelpump, FPR and an diffrent boostmap and fuelmap in the ECU.
Keyfactor is, without more fuel you can not rise the boost anymore regardless of engines internals.

Depends on the type of fuel. You can run around 14-15lbs at sea level with stock motor and C16 fuel. I run around 8-10lbs, sea level with 98 octane, stock motor, no issues after 2 years...
Hope this helps. You can always add a meth kit as well but my preference is to run better fuel..

Put 1200 miles last season on my basically stock engine with lc pistons 9-10 psi on 93 octane, sea level.

Is this stock compression?

Our experience is with low compression and cam timing but generally rule of thumb for me is 13.5lbs on pump and up to 18lbs on c16.The valves will start to float over 18lbs.This is with good rods and head studs installed also. The stock head studs are done at about 10lbs and the stock rods are questionable above about 17lbs.All these values are with proper tune and no detonation

8-10 to 14-15 is a huge change in cylinder pressure. I run 9 on 100 as well but wouldn't dream of telling someone to run 15 lbs on a stock compression engine no matter the fuel or meth. At that boost level you have doubled your engines actual compression ratio. Asking for detonation or a blown head gasket at that point. I push the envolope, but there is a point to say no more. For me that was 12, stock compression on Race fuel. I wouldn't recommend that either.
