Ayone got any thoughts on this setup from Maxx Perf.? Has anyone with ECP filters experienced the setup being temperamental in varying conditions?
Thanks

RX-1 Air Filter & Dial-A-Jet Kit Saves 5 Pounds
"Maxx Perf is now offering an air filter kit for the Yamaha RX-1 Snowmobiles that also incorporates the use of a Dial-A-Jet kit. This kit offers the benefits of increased air flow, the fuel efficiency of the Dial-A-Jet system and the important ability to fine tune the jetting for air temperature and altitude. This kit also provides a 5 pound weight savings. During testing with air filters on the RX-1, we found it to be temperamental to temperature and altitude changes. By using the Dial-A-Jet System, the jetting can be quickly adjusted. This kit is very easy to install. The air filters come with a unique threaded insert in them for the Dial-A-Jet injector, therefore there is no drilling or tapping of the carburetors required. Kit comes complete with four Uni-filters, crankcase vent filter, Dial-A-Jet Kit, Outerwears powder pre-filter, main jets, a set of CV slide springs, and complete installation instructions."
Thanks

That Genesis 4-stroke is way more tollerable to temperature variations than I ever imagined. I guess after years of Doo 2-smokes I expected the same with my Yamaha regardless of engine. I have rode in -20 to almost 50 degree's with no noticable change in performance.

I do a great deal of buisness with Maxx perf, never had a problem with a product or service.

Hum?? I used the ECP kit last winter with and without the Holtzman ATACC system. I used it from 2,500 feet to about 8,000 feet in elevation. When it was working I never knew it until we lined up three RX-1s in a mountain meadow at about 6,000 feet and I literally drove away from them. At that time the only difference in our setups was I had the ATACC on my sled. I think it was working.
Fast forward a month and the same group. I couldn't get my sled to run right (low end bog I could power out of). I tried a bunch of carb changes but nothing helped until I unhooked the ATACC and the sled ran flawlessly again. I called Barry Holtzman and ask WTF was going on. He said there must have been a low spot in my line between the compensator and the carbs with a little fuel in it blocking the compensators ability to adjust. I'm not sure if that was the case or not but I will be trying it again this season. PB
