Engine flap

modified flap

I decided to try Maddog's method (hope you don't mind I copied) and cut the ring part of the flap off. I then reattached it via zip ties to the rail. I ran it this weekend a couple of hundred miles and it seems ok. The filters are seated nice and tightly.

What to do with the flap

In Canada at 25-45 below you will want the flap. When your running around with the temp above Zero, you do not need it, unless your in deep powder. On a stock air intake, just flip it up on top of the filter box. When it gets below zero flip it back.

About that hard starting when warm, try holding in the throttle a small amount until it starts. Works great. Not a lot of throttle; Just a little or you be chasin' the thing.

I have the same oil filter kit. Just have not installed it yet. Next oil change. The one in the Pic looks good!

hey Maddog or anyone for that matter,
Where did you get the filter relocation kit and how much was it? Were they the best price? I like that kit. Changing that filter is a PITA. Even though they say 12K on the filter I will be replacing it every oil change.

Thanks

My kit is a Maximum Performance unit. You can also get them from Bender. Not sure on list price, but I get them for around $80.00
