I just installed a Fox Mega Float on my 06 Attak. I'm looking for advice on what pressure setting is recommended. I'm about 205 lbs and a moderate but sumetimes aggressive rider....I don't want to bottom out. Appreciate any advice that may be offered. Thnx, Bob

YAttak I also tried the mega float on my 07 gt but found it hard to get that shock to work good on all conditions set at one psi setting, I'm 200lbs with gear, for the small stutters bumps I found 140 psi to be a good ride, almost feel nothing when running through the stutters but I was bottoming hard on the bigger bump or washouts on the trail. Once I raised the psi to around 150psi I wasn't bottoming out as much unless I hit a huge washout but it was a harsh ride over the stutters,

Where I ride in Ontario there's more stutters bumps than any other so I keep the psi to around 140, I had this set up for a year than went back to the ohlins and found it was a much better ride for me especially since I had the ohlins revalved,

Also it depends on how the rear is set up, limiter strap and transfer rod make a huge difference on how any shock will perform, less transfer will give you a better ride but it has its down fall, more track spin and heavy steering,

I have my transfer rod set to a few marks below the half way mark meaning less transfer so I get more travel in the rear to soak up the bumps,

With your weight I would start with 145-150 psi and the transfer rod set to the middle setting and take it from there, you will have to play with the psi and transfer rod to get a good ride out of the mega float,

My biggest concern is bottoming out. The trails i ride get beat to crap fast.
I have had multiple rear suspension failures. I sheared the shock mounting brackets off the rear arm with the stock kyb shock installed because it bottomed out so much. The sled had to be dragged 50 miles home. I have busted the rails. Blown out shocks, I have even broken the beef up kit that is offered for sale on here.
Because of this i bought the megafloat. My thought process was i could adjust the pressure to where it would not bottom constantly.
I rode the megafloat for 1 season and was not completely happy with it.
I sent it to hygear for the revalve /improved airsleeve and bump stop kit they offer.
I felt it was much better after hygear worked on it.
I set the pressure to 180 psi and never change it. while it is a firm ride in the small stutters, it now takes the big stuff much better and performs as i wanted it to
