I have been out of sleds for 5 years now and looking to get back into it. When I went to university it was either sleds or bikes had to go and I stuck with the bikes. Sorry sled heads but I figured i didnt need distractions when i was supposed to be studying.
Now I am selling a bike and was offered a trade on a 2004 RXwarrior and am hoping you guys can give me some advice on what to check over. When I started looking at sleds I wanted to get a yamaha 4 stroke but have no knowledge on them.
The info I have on the sled right now is that the mods that have been done are clutch kit, team fast air ride suspension with on board compressor, straight pipes, pre picked track, C&A pro skis and it needs a new speed-o drive gear.
He does not know the mileage right now as it is in storage.
Any help is greatly appreciated, the bike I am selling is listed for $4250CAD and also wondering if that seems like a pretty fair deal
here is the bike i am going to trade

I just sold my 05 Warrior for $3600 with 13,000 km's. Sounds like he has improved the rear suspension quite a bit with the air suspension, so a reasonable price if the miles are low. If the original track, may soon need replacing. Too bad you can't ride it before buying it. Up north where the trails are long, fast, and straight this would not be a bad sled. This sled is freak'n heavy and does not like to turn, not a nimble sled or a ditch banger. If you haven't been sledding in 5 years, I wouldn't start out with this sled unless you get a smok'n hot deal.

Through some reading and research I think I might stay away. If I got one I would be looking for a fuel injected model I think so would have to go newer.
A friend has a 07 phazer with new track, c and a skis, rebuilt shocks FMF exhaust and a few other goodies that he will sell me for around 3500. All the others around here are going for around 5-5500 so I am hoping I can go look at it.
That and the fact that I trust him makes me not worry about buying off season
I have got a fair amount of people telling me to spend extra and buy newer if I go for the 1000
Thanks for the input, and off to the phazer forum to do some reading

My friend has a phazer and loves it. Same guy has 06 Attack, he prefers his phazer for an overall sled. I tink that would be a better choice as long as you're not addicted to horsepower.

Agree, if you don't want the long legs I don't think there is any way you are going to like an Apex/Attak or RX-1/Warrior sled judging from your background in dirt bikes.
Depends on riding style and trails as well...

Thanks for the input. my buddy is out of town so next week I am going to check his phazer out. He said 3500 he will sell it to me for. The details are
2007 yamaha phazer not sure the package but its what ever the highest is, as all the decals are removed it has the remote resivoir adjustable shocks. i had all shocks (front and rear) compelatly re-built and re-valved. 2400ish kilometers has a fmf pipe, brand new c+a skiis, a new track (1 1/4") a rear tunnel enclosure kit, aftermarket front/rear bumpers, tag bars, aftermarket headlight kit. it has some aftermarket stuff in the rear skidframe. it comes with the stock exhaust and a extra rear susp arm. the sled itself is in really good shape, not MINT, but good. there is one crack in the one small plastic panel, and a crack in the tunnel. both of which were there when i bought it. the one in the tunnel looks kinda shitty but didnt move over the last year
sound like an alright deal?

Everyone scared of the carbed RX's! What a shame! Nothing scary about them at all! 16,000 miles on mine and loving it!

I sold my 05 Warrior in March for $4500.00. After 5000 miles I put on a new track, exhaust donuts, and a reinforced W-arm in the rear suspension. Looking for a warrior? check the those things first.
