As far as the rest of it goes, I'll make a blanket statement. To all Mach Z riders; the fact that your sled is faster than my apex, I could not care less!! A 1000 cc 2 stroke should be 30% faster, why is it not? The fact that an Apex is going to nip at a Mach Z's heels is remarkable

Another way to look at this...Let's compare a 2003 Mach Z to a 2003 RX-1, both with 20 000 km's. Or, we'll continue this discussion in 2009 (comparing a 2006 Mach and a 2006 Apex). In my opinion, a large, twin cylinder two stroke in a stamped aluminum chassis is a disposable toy, probably rated for 300-400 hours. Although I cannot find a quote from any Yamaha engineers, I would imagine the RX-1 was designed for closer to 1000 hours. Translation: Live fast, die young. (Not you, Skidoo10setsofrings.)

Skidoo sleds record the hours as well as the mileage. Most guys are between 25 and 35 mph average. (I haven't heard or anyone in the 40's except for people who are just guessing.) So, 300 hours is 7500-10500 miles and 1000 works out to 25000-35000 miles. If you can do that in 3-4 seasons, I salute and envy you.
