Tried a search but came up empty. Drained my chaincase oil at the beginning of the season. Came out all milky. Thought maybe had to do with being stored in enclosed trailer. Anded new oil and in 30 km drained it and all milky again. Took apart chaincase thinking it was a rip in the bottom seal and letting water in. Water was definitely getting in there. All i found was grooves in the collar. Seal was not torn. Should i throw in a new seal and bearing and try it??? Maybe a new collar. Anyone have a similar experience.

The only place where water *can* get in is the driveshaft seal, since that is the only place where water comes in contact with it. Your solution is obvious.

Thanks for the reply's! I realize this is the only place water can get in. I ordered up new seal, bearing and collar. I think the water had a lot to do with the grooved collar eating away at the seal.

Don't forget the o-ring. I believe it is separate from the collar. It seals the collar to the driveshaft.

... or you *might* be able to get a reasonably close match from some place like home depot.

It is separate 3 bucks worth! I figured I better get everything oring seal collar and chaincase gasket just to be safe! Thanks for the help ;)!
