The 0-30 is itself NOT synthetic. Its "semi" synthetic, which means its regular oil + a little synthetic snake oil. Its not magic.
You can pretty much throw in ANY kind of oil you like, as long as its 0w or 5w low temperature viscosity with a 30+ high temperature viscosity.

Personally, ... I never mix oils. Just about every owners manual for a motor that I have has warned against this. But, it does make sense for an emergency. But then there is the non-detergent versus detergent thing.
I loaned out a generator once. They changed the oil. Came back leaking badly out of the main seal. Engine was shot. They used Non-detergent,... Or was it detergent? Whatever it was the opposite of the Owner's Manaul, which warned against its use.
Like I said, I just do not mix oils. Kind of a personal preference thing.

I am more with LB on this one. All modern motor oils are designed to be compatable with one another, even Mobil 1 a synthetic.
OW or even 5W would be fine / 30-40

If you mix oils in a turbine engine, it's the kiss of death; like Len wrote - every seal leaked and the engine had to be completely torn down.
Maybe automotive (four stroke) oils have similarities, but I also don't practice mixing unless it's an emergency.

Every time you change your oil brand, you're mixing oil. How much of the oil do you think actually drains out of your engine? Probably only about 3/4 of it depending on your engine! Oil companies know this and specifically formulate their oils so that nothing bad happens when they mix, otherwise you'd be blowing engines half the time you change oil brands. There is NOTHING WRONG with mixing oils.

I also agree with LB. Back when I was in my automotive program the professor told us that mixing automobile oils didn't matter. It wouldn't hurt anything. I recall him saying you could even add in a pint of ATF to help clean out the sludge on high milage engines. I've personally followed his advise and have had no issues.

engine oil has specifications set forth by the SAE (society of automotive engineers I believe).
they keep upgrading the standards and they are at like SL or SM
they tweak it by adding more carbon deposit resistance, oxidation reducers stuff like that
To make the story short, to meet current ever escallating standards, about every company has to add detergent packages, viscosity improvers etc.
So the way I understand it, all like SL grade oils are going to be very similar thus no danger in mixing different brands. Base stocks could be a little different, synthetic has longer chain esters base stock, that is part of why it lasts longer. Pennsoil I understand has a base stock with more parifin in it, again, all very compatible.
In short I not advising anybody to go out of their way to mix oils, but if you did, it'd be silly in my opinion to lose a seconds sleep over it.
Profound point LB makes, an oil change only changes prolly no more than 80% so you are mixing anyway, old with new and change brands, you are mixing 2 different oils together right there.
