Thanks - I have a few final things to do, guage mounts and cluthcing and am very anxious to squeze the flipper on some snow!
When we are out west we are always referred to as "the guys from Wisconsin." I figured that the Badger theme would help people keep track of us!

Wow......Now that's a summer project! Good job man. You're gonna love it! I was looking at the way your handguards mount to your bar. Do all the Sporttech's mount inside the switch housings? I just put on the Powermadd's and they mount at the end of the grip and I don't like them because they screw with my heater wires coming out and also my "Goldfinger" throttle plate.

Aaron, the sportechs do go inside the controls, you can see the mounts between my MPI powder strap and the controls on my Fly bars.
I have the powermadds mounted on the wife's 900 RMK the same as you do. It's too bad the plastic spacer in the middle isn't wider. Then a guy could place the mounts inside the controls and switch the guard so it is on the outside of the mount. Doing it that way left the outer part of the hand exposed though with the guards designed the way ther are now.

How did you mount your gauge? I've got the same Wildchild steering post kit and have been plannig to put my gauge under the bars like you did.

Nice Sled! I really like what you've done with it!
Are the pictures of the stock sport tech mounts?
If that's the case I wouldn't need the TJ's mounts.
Great job.

I went the rednect, Home Depot route on the gauge mount. I filled the open hole in the cowling with a 4" drain tile end cap for $1.29 from Home Depot. I riveted it in. Then, I made a mount bracket out of aluminum channel - mounted the gauge to the aluminum and the aluminum to the plastic end cap.
The mounts I used are the stock Sportech units - very little modification was necessary on the left side, but note that I am not running the OEM parking brake.
Thanks for the kind comments on my project!

Sno I rednecked mine also, I used a piece of 4" sch.40 pvc as a collar wrapped door screen around it then riveted it into the hole so I have an extra place to get hot air out.
Rockrider just go get an old street sign or chunk of 1/8" alum. at the neerest recycling center and make your own I just used a plasma cutter or a jigsaw would work to Everything cost me about 5 bucks

The windshield is home brew. I take hand-me-downs from my buds and modify them. This was was a stock Vector shield, cut down, then painted black from the back side.
I could probably buy nice stuff cheaper than the time I put into backyard modifying what I have!

Thanks guys, I'm on the right track.
Has anyone considered moving the stock headlight forward a few inches so a taller windshield can be run with the steering post kit? THe Apex headlight is probably 6" further forward than the RX-1/Vector style.
