Mono RA Adjuster Cable Routing

Does this cable and boot routing look right? I know I need a zip tie but wanted to check my cable routing before I install the zip tie.

I am reassembling my skid after sending the shock to Pioneer for a re-valve, new Pioneer bushing kit, new RA adjuster cable, a few new wheel bearings, and a couple new wheels.

Thanks Shootinstick. I wish I would have taken a picture of it before I tore it down a couple weeks ago. I originally thought that the rubber boot should be pushed over the cable nut on the RA adjuster but if the boot is clipped in the wire support, I dont see how that is possible. Thanks, G.B.

I replaced that white plastic slider with a longer one from some other older model Yamaha sled per one of the posts here on TY. Don't remember what model. It will supposedly protect the cable more, but I have still manged to pull crimped on end off of two cables over the years. New one is slightly different with clear covering instead of black, so maybe an improvement.

The new cable I bought has the clear housing. The only real difference I can see with this one and the original is that the new clear housing cable is a softer durometer. The softer durometer cable housing will hopefully put less strain on the crimped cable ends? That is my guess. Thanks, G.B.

If I'm seeing your picture correctly, looks like your zip tie will be on the end that connects to the shock. Mine was definitely on the end that connects to the RA side of the cable. The zip tie just squeezes the rubber boot to the cable housing on that end. Looks like you reversed the rubber boot. The other end pushes right over the shock connection and forms a tight seal, put some grease on the shock valve before pushing the boot over it.

Thrasher has it right. Zip side goes toward the adjuster.

Mine has given no trouble for over two years. I routed it in the original package and hung it on the wall.

Thrasher and Bigblue, thanks for pointing that out. That makes sense because the boot did not fit well in the wire guide which I thought was odd. Thanks, G.B.

Thinking about it, my tywrap was on the ra adjuster end too. I was just looking to see that your boot was clipped in the wire guide. Didn't think about it being end for end.
