Does my rear skid have to come out of my 06 gt or can i remove the ec ohlins without removal? Iv been fortunate to find a dealership here in my own town that will rebuild it for me . Anyone?

Never just taken out the shock without dropping the skid but I think if you remove the transfer rod and hang the rear of the sled it should remove any preload and make removing the shock easier

I’ve done it the way Steiner describes above. It is a little tricky if you have any preload in the spring, but it is possible.

Ya threw it up on my 2 post hoist and it came out very easy.
This is how I removed the rear mono shock on my 06 RTX. With the full load on the sled (sled on the ground) disconnect the front limiting strap. Next lift the sled off the ground. This will remove the load off the shock. The shock can then be removed.

I just put in the Ulmer track rub kit this way. Loosened the track, took out the front transfer rod bolt and the upper shock bolt came out easily!
The bigger issue is reinstalling the ec shock. The wire needs to be strapped in securely or risk tearing it.
