Moving the upper idler wheels rearward is how Yamaha does it with the 128" and 136". Possibly moving them further back for the 144" would be beneficial? I've always been curious about moving the rear arm back. Obviously a longer shock and transfer rod would be required.

Agreed. Even with the rear carrier wheels moved back there’s still a disproportionate amount of rail behind the rear scissor. I’ll likely just stick to extending a 128 to 136 or find another XTX, although I know I’ll be happiest with a mono underneath my #*$&@.
