hey guys new to yamaha...going to stud my attak this weekend (162 up the middle) and i always just drop the 2 rear susp bolts with my sled on my lift, so the rear drops down and drill away, question is does the mono line back up easy on install? thanks...snirt

Dont forget to unhook the ra cable or just remove the three allen bolts on the side of the tunnel and push the ra in or it may break the rubber hose from stretching.

Also with sled on floor lay across seat(compresses suspension) to remove the rear bolt out of the tranfer rod this will make lining the rear holes back up a piece of cake.

i have to mess with the transfer rod ?

If you dont unhook it you will not like getting the bolts lined up the mono spring is under alot of pressure.

Its really no big deal unhooking the tranfer rod and you only have to take one end off.

The first time I did my suspension I didnt undo the tranfer rod and had to use ratchet straps to pull the rear arm forward and it sucks(alot of spring to collapse with 1" ratchet straps).

Some guys have said it will line up easy if you pull the limiter staps off.Its easier to get at the back bolt on the transfer rod for me.

I agree 100%. When I studded my track I didn't know the tricks. What a pain in the @ss to get the bolts to line back up. It took three guys and a ratchet strap. The next two times it was some what easier because I knew to pre compress the susp. before installing back in. The last time was when I removed my shock to get it revalved. I didn't want to deal with it so I tried removing the rear bolt on the transfer rod. I thought that I had read this on hear somewere. The shoch holes lined right up no problem. Then I thought great now I've just moved the problem to the transfer rod, nope, just compress the suspension a little from the rear bumper and she when right in. What a relief. Deffinently the way to do it.

I agree. A lot easier to line everything back up if you remove the back blot on the transfer rod. But one question? Why are you dropping your suspension to put studs in. I have studded many of snowmobiles and have never dropped the suspension. What does that do for you?

I see no need to drop the track for studs. I had no problem with mine, just bungie the flap up out of the way.

there is plenty of room to do it without taking rear bolts out.
