Ok, some of you might remember last year my front arm on my monoshock rear suspension broke. I had it professionally welded but the guy said it had been severely stressed. I put about 500 miles on it and it broke again in about the same place. Is there any way to get one of these arms beefed up. I dont know what to do, if I buy a new one its probly gunna do the same thing. I might buy a new one and take it to a welding shop and see if I can have it reinfoced. Does any one know of a place to buy a replacement arm for the front of this suspension that is stronger? Im a big guy and i have a fat boy spring installed, Maybe I need a fat boy arm installed too (Its not the spring, it broke last year before I had the spring installed...)
any help is greatly appreciated...

You could replace it with a 2007 front arm

Ok I checked out yamahas microfiche online and the parts for the 07 apex and the 05 rx-1 look identical but the part numbers are different.
The part number for the 05 RX-1 front arm is 8FU-47331-00-00
The part number for the 07 apex front arm is 8FT-47331-00-00
The T is the only difference. If that just means its stronger thats great and I will order one but if it means it wont quite bolt up then it wont work. Who could I call to find out what the difference between these two arms is??? If anyone can help I greatly appreciate it. We got 2 feet of snow last night and my sled is broke.... Its killing me!!!

Here is a comparison of parts between 2005 and 2006 121" monoshock skid.
2005 RX-1 ER
8FT-47331-00-00 ARM, PIVOT
8FU-47415-00-00 BRACKET
2006 Apex ER
8FU-47331-00-00 ARM, PIVOT (This is a new design, stronger and with improved welding)
8FU-47415-10-00 BRACKET (This part has been upgraded, -10-00 indicates that, it now has grease zerts for the cross axle bolt)
To my memory and from what I have seen at the local dealer the 2006 and newer parts are doing just fine out there. My 2005 was upgraded to 2006 spec under warranty, in fact I had the front arm replaced at low milage. When putting the new one in we added grease zerts and my dealer was instructed by Yamaha to take pics and send then to HQ. Guess what, grease zerts are in the same spots we put them exept for the two in the partno 8FU-47415-10-00 BRACKET
I may add a few at that spot.
Hope this can be of any help to you.
