Hey TY Crew,

Needing some opinions, I just bought a 05 rx-1 ER LE and it's my first Yamaha after coming off from Ski-Doo all my life and I :4STroke: LOVE my Yamaha but not right :die NOW! I just came back from a day ride well NOT the whole day! I broke my W-Arm right where the transfer rod connects to the W-Arm Broke on both sides only after not even 100 miles of riding in pretty good trails. I've seen and rode in worse! and Ive never EVER broke a Ski-Doo suspension Never and I put less then 200 on this sled since I got it and damn it's broke already!

I took it to the local yamaha dealer and of course he can not HELP ME! ( Never bought a sled from him )and yes its out of warrenty! sled has 2300 miles and I weight 285 but put in the FAT BOY spring. Don't under stand why it broke there ,but it did.

Do you guys think I could get it warrentied?????? or should I just fix it my self and make some reinforcements.????

Local Yamaha dealer said thr 06 W-Arm is the same part number as the 05 W-Arm so there no big deal there to buy NEW if it's just going to do it again, or what do you guys think?????? :o|

Brand new W-Arm is 255.00 I think I can fix it for that kind of money!

PLEASE give me any sugguestions you can to lead me in the right direction thankx

Terry

P.S. Here's some pics!!!!

Did you it from a dealer or private party? if it was a dealer he should warranty it. I would try and fix myself and reinforce it due to the fact that it will probably happen again........... Just my 2 cents worth.

There are some upgrades for the 05 mono...New bushings and some other parts. You need to find a decent dealer 8)

I had a crack in my 05 and when dealer replaced it ,it is the same as the 06 sleds. The one in your picture is not the updated w arm the newer arm has gussets at the bottom, sides and grease zerks,at least the one they put on mine does.No problems since.

I would order the 06 part for it and get it fixed at the dealer so the sled is running for you. Then fight for the warranty. If you leave it and try to fight for warranty your riding for this season will be over. Getting it fixed at the dealer gives the dealer some initiative to at least try for you seeing as you gave him your business. Furthermore getting it fixed at the dealer gives more of a chance for warranty. Dont wait though get it fixed so you can ride and make sure to get the updated 06 part with the grease zerts. ;)!

W-arm on my 2005 was replaced under warranty a month ago, sled was past 1 year and I got it replaced even if it was not broken. It showed a few hairline cracks and my dealer wouldn't have it break down on me so he got the 2006 W-arm and shock spring assy. If your dealer won't fight for you, you may try calling Yamaha customer service.
