I have never ridin the REV yet... But i am very curious how the rev and the fircats ride in the ruff stuff (studders and Mougals) compared to the new MONOSHOCK rear skid!!
I have yet to see anyone compare the sleds in the nasty...
If the groomers allways groomed or could keep up then we wouldnt need good suspensions but we all know that will never happen...
I guess what im asking is does the Mono compare closely to the other brands in the nasty stuff??
P.S. i did get to ride the new mono... Very impressive but there want any nasty trials to really try it on..

I have an 03 REV 600X, that i rode for the past two years, and now have an 05 RX1ER too. I gave the REV to the wife. I was in Quebec a few weeks back and loving life on the RX1. It's a plush high speed cruiser, I can stretch my feet out and enjoy the ride. I hopped back on the REV for a section and let the wife drive the Yammie. The REV chassis is a whole different animal. For rough trails, it does isolate the driver better from the bumps, due to most of the rider weight, and foot pivots being almost over the front axle. The Yamaha is more conventional and you sit a little farther back. I think the Yamaha is definitely more plush and transfers weight better. If I'm on junk trails where I'm really gonna be working, give me the REV. If it's cold, or I'm gonna be putting on some miles on, no question, give me the Yammie. I love sleds in general, they all have their strong points, and weak points. I think the 05 RX1 is the best trail sled on the market right now. I also think the REV chassis is the best for sno-x or if you only ride on crap trails. I only rode one Firecat. It was an 03, and the owner hated it, wanted his ZR back. I thought it was a pile too, I don't care if it was fast or not. My knees were in my chin, it steered for $hit, and was noisy and flimsy feeling. The 05's have higher seats and look to have alot of the gremlins worked out, but it's still hard to beat a Doo or Yam for build quality and reliability.
