More Comfortable Throttle

I hated the throttle. I rotated it down a bit and it definitely helps but I'm saving my $ for the NCI Thumbdrive.

Has anyone tried the NCI Thumbdrive? I personally don't have any issues, however my wife is very uncomfortable after a day of riding (I won't say complaining, because she's a really good sport about it) however, I know she's hurting after a day of riding. I'm just curious if this will really do the trick, I don't have any problems with spending the $ as long as I can feel comfortable that it will do the trick.
Thanks
John

Ive had the thumb drive for 5000 ks now works good , thumb heater in it works good too , lots of adjustibility , big diff from the factory one

Thanks for the comments on the Thumb Drive.

Thumb Drive kits will be available in a couple of weeks. We're just ramping production up for the season and working in a slight modification to the thumb pad. Check with SledToyz.com if you're in Canada. Otherwise ping me if you're looking to place an order.

Sparks49 - With the adjustability in the Thumb Drive lever it can work well for a woman's smaller hands, especially if she's not riding wide open all the time. By moving the lever in relative to the bar you can decrease the reach and take some of the load off her thumb.

Normally, it is recommended that the lever be positioned so it's close to the same angle to the bar as the OEM throttle. At this position you are less likely to push the lever into your fingertips during high-speed pursuits. Either way, it will require some testing to find your own sweet spot.

I know it's been awhile but the updated ThumbDrive is now available.

The primary update includes a redesign of the thumb pad assembly. In this new configuration the heater element is completely enclosed to protect it from losing heat to air flow through the back of the pad. Additionally, the heater element is now mounted directly to an aluminum insert to improve heat transfer efficiency to your thumb.

Thanks to those you that have inquired about the ThumbDrive recently. You've helped to keep this project moving forward.

A big tip on the arctic cat site is to turn the throttle so that you use your fingers. Have not personally done this on a sled myself but did happen to ride my uncles old yamaha that had it like this from the factory. It was very comfortable. Also allows for a better grip on the bars. Only real problem with it is that all the controls will be facing downwards...

Thanks...

As for plug-n-play, I would say it is; provided you're a decent mechanic. Probably the toughest part is disassembling the throttle block to liberate the power lines for the OEM throttle heater. After that it's just chasing the line back under the hood to the plug and disconnecting / reconnecting the throttle cable.

Be warned - there are small parts involved and it's best to drape a sheet or similar under the bars to catch them before they disappear into the engine compartment - says the voice of experience.

The price is $125 USD. For Canadian orders check with our friends at SledToyz.com, There are fresh units on the way.

The attachment contains the basics on how to install the ThumbDrive kit on your sled. Some variation should be expected across the model line.
