So,
Before i post a pic, i just want to say.
If removing your skidplate for things like oil changes is an issue for you, this is not the skidplate for you.
But, if total protection of the entire front end is what your looking for, including your chaincase and brake rotor then this might be the solution your looking for.
RPM Composite Full carbon fiber protection for the entire underside of your sled.

Really nice looking product but yikes....$600.
That's pricy but I guess so is replacing a chain case, brake rotor, etc!

Ya its not for everyone.
i Had a buddy rip the chaincase drain plug out of his nytro a few years ago.
It ended our day and Cost him 1400 and he never even knew he hit anything.
I also have a buddy that runs this skidplate on his skidoo 1200
It has saved his sled multiple times. I know because ive seen the things he has hit.
Ya its expensive, but the underside of this sled is made of plastic and aluminum foil.
1 good hit the right way and your easily spending 600+
If you dont venture off trail, you dont need this kind of protection.
If you do, you currently cant get a better skidplate then this one

Very nice skid plate. I looked into one but couldn't rationalize spending that much coin on one. The grip n rip racing guys used those on their 2012 Cats in the Cains Quest race a couple of years ago. There are not many options that cover the chaincase and brake side. The RPM composites and Cat/Yamaha plastic piece are the only two I know of that provide the coverage.

Again, its not for everyone
Every sled i have ever owned has always had plastic skidplates.
My experience with them is they are good for ice and snow, but you go off trail (woods of maine) and your bound to hit something and the plastic does not hold up the way you would hope.
Ive been watching RPM's skidplates in action the last 4 years and theres nothing on the market that compares to it.
Fit,finish, strength, durability, its got it all. Ya its expensive but for me, its worth every penny.

Wow nice!

Wow nice!
Its really something you need to see in person.
Pics dont do justice.
The way it wraps the belly pan perfectly is just unreal.

How thick is it?
I cant measure it right now but it seemed like different thicknesses in different areas.
I would say it varies between 1/4 and 1/8 but really im just guessing
I can measure some areas when i get a chance.
I can tell you when the owner of RPM was not looking, i was standing on it (230 lbs) and it did not budge or flex at all.

How thick is it?
I measured a few points that were easy to get at this morning.
Like i said before it varies.
Looks like he beefs up certain areas like the nose if the sled below the bumper that point is 1/4 thick.
The bottom plate appears to be 3/16 in the areas i could measure.
The areas that wrap around the belly pan, (shown in my last 2 pics) are 1/8 thick.
