Hello All,
I have a 98 Mountain Max 600. I replaced a defective Thottle Position Sensor. My question is the calibration on the sensor.
I have a service manual for this sled and am following the procedure for calibration. I believe there is an error in the manual.
The formula printed in the manual is Vb=Va x (.121 x .129).
In my case the 'a' voltage is 4.77. Calculating 'b' voltage gives about 74 millivolts (0.074 volts).
When the engine is idling at this TPS setting the diagnostics light flashes two long flashes and one short flash, indicating a open circuited TPS.
If I run the engine at about 4000 rpm the flashes stop.
If I re-adjust the sensor to about .70 volts on Vb at idle the flashes stop.
Are there any ideas on the proper TPS setting for this machine? Has there been a revision or correction issued on the manual for this machine?
