Haven't been on the site as much as I was before I took possession of the XTX. I've been trying to ride as much as I can instead of reading about possible issues that might come up. Granted, I did have a loose chain tensioner and my chaincase oil leaked out but my dealer had me back up and running in less than a week all under warranty.
No issues since.....no codes.....no starting issues......no lack of reverse or jumping out of gear etc. 1482 miles since Dec. 28th. Here's a story and pics I posted on HardCoreSledder regarding my last ride.
Feel free to add your own stories and pics of these beautiful Vipers out on the trail to this thread. The main topic of conversation when I pull up to other sledders is always the Viper.....alot of times about the lack of windshield....LOL !!
280 Mile Manitoba/Ontario Ride Yesterday !!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What a freakin' awesome day yesterday !!
1 Doo, 1 Poo, and 1 Viper suited up for a cross-country, cross-lake tour Saturday morning at 9:00am.
280 mile round trip. We rode from Falcon Lake to West Hawk to Kenora to Stewart Lake to Sioux Narrows to the Witch Hut to Clearwater Bay, back to West Hawk and dinner at Pittmans, and back on the trailer at Falcon Lake at 9:30pm.
We rode the L101, A East, A West, L102, L105, L106, and the L108. All of the trails were fantastic. You couldn't have asked for better trail conditions. Lakes were staked but not freshly groomed but even they were in great shape. Thanks STR for all the good work !!! Note if your headed out that way there is no gas/food at Stewart Lake and no food in Sioux Narrows except gas station food at Gils Trading Post.
Weather conditions were outstanding yesterday with very little wind and temps in the low -20's. Thumb got cold after dark but that was the only issue. All the machines ran excellent so no issues there either.
If you've never been, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous if you take the time to slow down. Beautiful cottages on Lake of the Woods (if you can call them that..LOL), babbling brooks and running streams along the trails, plenty of deer both on the trail and walking through town, clearly marked trails and ice roads, and at least yesterday, a serious lack of snowmobile traffic which was really nice. The bush trails are narrow and windy and up hill and down the next. If you're a thrill-seeker and love roller coasters then the L102 Pipeline Trail is for you !! More than once my heart was pounding on that trail yesterday !!! If you like to play in the deep stuff there is plenty of that on the lakes too. I bought a 141" track to be able to run in the deep stuff on those lakes and I sure did yesterday. Groomed trails will take you right into Kenora to both food and gas. Same into Sioux Narrows only there is a lack of restaurants there.
Feb. 15, 16, & 17 Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is offering a free trail pass weekend to come and explore Ontario. I would encourage this experience to everyone.
Thanks to Oh Bubba for leading the entire way yesterday and to RJSnowdrifter for the good company.
IMHO, the riding in NWO really is that good and " It's Yours to Discover".

The trails in both Manitoba and Northwest Ontario are outstanding. This particular ride took place mainly in Ontario.

I have the darting issue as well. Just got a set of Slim Jim 6" Dooleys in the mail yesterday. Went back to work today so won't be able to ride again until the end of the month. I 'll let you know how they work out. So very glad the hand warmer's are as hot as they are cuz the windshield is all show.....LOL !!!!
Yamadog........was thru Minny today on my way to L.A.......plenty of snow on the ground !!
Ride safe y'all !!

I will admit to complaining but I am riding all the rest of time. Have been working on mods and changes only 1 night a week and enjoying the benefits rest of week! Take the complaining with a grain of salt. Almost all of us love our sleds. I do even stock. 650 miles ridden stock other than HID and 4 wheel kit. I would do it again in heartbeat. Now its time for me to personalize and tune. It never ends but is sure fun as long as it doesnt interfere with ride time. Quickly approaching 2000mi now. On schedule for best winter I have ever had here.
Yup Freelance we do have a bit more than a dusting. I am leaving right now for the yooper for 4 days unfortunately I am stuckl on the Pol Pro R the viper won't be back together until Monday or tuesday. But when its done look out!!!! 10#'s of boost baby
