i have a moto 4 that was getting over 100 kilometers a tank. last time i checked it was closer to 70-75. i have changed the seat in the carb, but no dice. how many kilometers should i be getting a tank anyway? its a 12 litre tank for those wondering.

all depends on the type of riding. all at a cruse on hardpack will be better than running the mud. i know my bear gets over 150km before i have to put it on reserve to get back to camp. mine is one of the thirstyer bikes at the camp. only one that is worse is a 500ho polaris. the rest other than 1 kawi 360 alll are close to mine in fuel milage.

well i was gettin around 130 k a tank. and then 70-80, there seomthing wrong there. though yesterday, i went out for a afternon on it in the snow (about 15cm with some trails broke). i burned half a tank in 13 kilometers. like i said i changed the seat in the carb, and i havent really measured the kilometers yet, but that (13 kilometers in snow) was after i did it. doesnt seem right to me. :o|

brakes and bearings adjusted properly?

if chain drive, is the chain clean and lubed?

something has to be making it work harder than it used to.

no brakes, seems to have good bearings. timing chain has to be adjusted though.. btw it's shaft driven.

chech that the choke is closing properly. if it is cable, it might be hanging up.

not if someone turned the idle down. if it is not that, there might be an o-ring missing/cracked on the jet .

try some new jets if you can see visible wear on them, that is bad.

Check and/or change your spark plug. That will tell you if you're running rich/choke stuck on.

yeah i am going to today. im going to replace the jets, and see if the choke is stuck to. its getting around 27MPG i think
