What oil are folks using in the 3 cyclinder? I bought some Yamalube 0W-30 for my first oil change and was surprised to find that Yamaha gets $7.50 a quart for their oil? Is anyone using 0W-30 automotive oil with success?

I just did my first oil change on Sunday, not a big deal at all. You need to remove the panel between the gas tank and dash, the right side panel and lower panel to get at the drain plug in the oil tank, then remove the panel under the sled to access the oil filter and crank case drain. With the panel next to the gas tank removed you can remove the cap in the head, then drain the oil tank and crank case, remove filter and replace with new one and refill oil tank. Not a big job at all.

i did an oil change last night it wasnt that big of a deal lots of parts to take off to get to the oil filterbut no biggie i was looking at the oil filter relocator it shows that you can put it front of the machine just behind the bumper but inside the hood obviously and there was alot of snow and ice there just wondering if it would really be worth buyin the relocator? with all that ice and snow wouldnt that freeze up the filter and thicken up the oil a lil bit? well i guess just that part of the whole oil setup right, i guess it should be pretty good easilt accessed and it would warm up after runin the motor a little bit, hmmm maybe ill try it, ne body use it ???????
