Looking to head out west either this year or next. Anyone have any recommendations for backcountry guides/ equipment rental/ places to go. Never been true deep snow riding other than some UP riding with some friends. Not sure where to start looking. Will probly just be my father and I maybe a few more if they are feeling adventurous. Thanks in advance

I'm from WA state and ride the trails only, but I use this forum for researching info primarily dedicated to the Pacific Northwest riding areas. It should help getting you started. How far west are you planning to travel?

I have no idea, heard Jackson hole has places but have not done much research into it. Wife’s uncle used to go out every year to somewhere around Jackson hole he said and rented truck trailer sleds and knew a guys who would take them out. Maybe I need to bug him son more for some info

Grizzly Lodge is on my bucket list.

A group of my friends went to Park City last year. They rented a nice house convenient to skiing. The rental they arranged met them at a spot with several sleds on a trailer. There was zero snow where they started but after a short ride up they were in a vast riding area with bowls and tree lines if they wanted.

There were a few beginners but mostly experienced sledders so they didn’t have guide but I’m sure the rental outfit offered that service.

West Yellowstone and Island Park are great places to ride. I'm heading to West Yellowstone for the first time this winter. There is a ton of rental places there plus a lot of guides to pick from so you have a lot of options. There is also a lot of lodging there to pick from also.

X2 on West Yellowstone / island Park been there several times plenty of trails and back country just Google outfitters west Yellowstone

If i were you guys i would check out Revelstoke British Columbia.....some of the best mountain riding in the world.

Togwotee Mountain Lodge. Great lodging, food, and riding all in one place. Multiple packages to fit your budget.
