Looking for some advice and opinions. Getting ready to purchase lightweight skid parts and not sure which one to choose between mountain performance and holtzracing. Anybody used either one. Looking to drop weight and gain performance. By the time you add all the lightweight brackets and other pieces together theirs not a whole lot of difference between prices. Going to a snow show this weekend, both will be their any questions I should ask that maybe I haven't thought of or you would like asked.

PW;
I have heard the Holtz is by far superior in weight transfer. It alo drops 34-37 lbs versus MPI that drops about 25 lbs. If Spray chimes in, I think he has first hand experience with both. He has the MPI. Next year I will get the Holtz. Are you going to the Puyallip show. I think I'm making the trek also.

Hey Pinball,

Get the Holtz. I have the MPI and have rode both. Holtz saves you more weight and gives you a MUCH better ride. Weight transfer is better too. There is a cost diferrence, but it is worth the little bit extra. If I was doing it all over I would get the Holtz.

Work on your dealer for a good price too. I get at least 10% off everything. Doesn't sound like much, but when you are buying a $1200 suspension 10% is $120 or more than half the cost of the Holtz brake rotor!! :wink:

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning it looked like a more complete kit.
Yes I am going to the Puyallup show on saturday.
Spray I did get my white knuckle exhaust last week looks like a nice system.

Got the MPI version in my Viper and the Holz in my RX1........get the Holz it weight transfers better and is a lot lighter.
BTW the Holz puts more footprint on the ground.
Good luck

I am going to Holtz 159 through Tom Hartman. He is bringing my stuff to the Puyallup snow show, saved shipping and tax by doing it that way. Give him a call and see if he will do the same for you.

Silver, sounds like a good idea, we will be there most of the day saturday. Pick a time and I'll be there. Sorry I havn't taken the time to measure my skis, let me know if you still want me to.

Pw;
Go ahead and measure your skis. What I have been finding out about the aftermarket skis is, I have a kit that works for all the aftermarkets. I can bring them to the show Sat. if you tell me how wide yours are. I also sent you a PM earlier.

I think I can be at the show in the morning on Sat. We are going to swing by on our way to Maytown for some waterskiing and dirtbike riding. Let me know some times and I will be there. I would say 9:00 AM sounds good. Does anyone know the hours that the doors are open?

EXPERT X DTR:

The mountain-oriented Dynamic Transfer Regulator (DTR) is an adjustable system that controls slide rail angle dynamically while the Expert X strokes through its travel. The system regulates the amount of weight transfer regardless of snow conditions. It not only limits weight transfer (like coupling blocks) but also regulates the angle of the slide rail relative to the tunnel of the sled.

It responds to a high-transfer situation by pulling upwards on the front of the rails as the rear compresses and eases the snowmobile back "on-plane". This is essential in creating traction and getting-up-on-top when attacking the hills in deep powder.
